Percorso di Vita

Percorso di Vita is a three dimensional labyrinth representing the complexity, interconnectedness and never ending  cycle of life.. There is no beginning or end, only a continuum looping upon itself. Although one can discern individual parts assembled into the whole, nothing stands alone or is complete without related elements. There is but one path - at many times intersected and redirected - which reveals a life well-lived, where choices were made and chance encounters altered its course ever ending cycle of life. Although one can discern individual parts assembled into the whole, nothing stands alone or is complete without related elements. Please feel free to trace the entire path as a form of meditation.
---Michael McGinnis

This piece, along with the accompanying description by the artist are in the sculpture garden which is between the Sutter Hospital and the Luther Burbank Center for the Performing Arts whose parking lot the farmers' market occupies every Saturday. I don't think I would find trying to trace its path to be very meditative, in fact it looks like a pretty good representation of my mind going in circles, but I did really like the sculpture and the artist's description. The title of the exhibit is Geometry in Art.

I was pleased with my purchase of a large wreath made out of lichen covered twigs which I have put on the porch. We were contemplating making a change in the furniture arrangement out there so that at least some of the chairs face the bird feeders instead of the kitchen door, but neither of us had the energy or the will to get up and make it happen.

It was quite warm today but I am now determined to finish the closet purge, so after doing a 20 minute     with Cristina     on the Peloton I tackled the sweater shelf. Most of my time was spent folding them carefully after removing the liberal distribution of white hairs. Hard to tell whether they were mine or the dog's but probably some of each. I also have a little device called 'defuzz it' that removes pills, sort of. It's interesting that the sweaters that were most prone to pilling are the cashmere ones.... It will be a few months before I wear any of them so, it seemed like a good idea to fold them carefully

Only one rack to go which may be the most difficult since it is mostly the things I couldn't decide about last time I did this

Granddaughter Maya graduated from high school last night and is off to UC Davis in the fall. New revelations from her which I'm still digesting ....
