Water, Water Everywhere!
It's been a somewhat un-eventful day. Occasionally those are welcomed. Mr. Fun has had a bit of a frustrating day with trying to get the start-up on the pool done correctly. He felt like he got the "bum's rush" yesterday morning when the man from the pool re-do company was here (the main boss is on vacation). Now there has been some kind of snafu with the pool filter. I've tried to stay clear of the mess and I'm waiting anxiously for the moment that the pool is complete AND the remainder of the yard is too--that might be a while. Oh well--we've dedicated this summer to less travel and having an adventure right here at home.
So I spent the day (doing too much email and peeking at Blip), but finally got in "gear" somewhat and did some paperwork in the home office--got some bills paid, some mail sorted, and a pile of filing to do still. Was on the phone for probably a half-hour with AT&T trying to figure out how to see our telephone bill/invoice online . . . the AT&T person I was talking to tells me he's in the Philippines. Thankfully he spoke fairly understandable English. He wanted to know all about California and how the Michael Jackson situation is going. I just wanted him to tell me how to view the calls we've made . . . I hadn't really planned on making friends with a phone clerk in Asia. Very interesting.
This evening we took a ride to the local shopping area. Before exiting the freeway to turn into the parking lot we saw the gusher of water. I hate to think how many gallons of water were wasted before the firemen arrived to take control of the situation and shut off the broken fire hydrant.
We were at the shopping center because Mr. Fun wants to get a thingy that will transfer photo slides to digital. We have zillions of slides. The Best Buy store did not have the thingy--so we are still looking. We did find the turntable that converts LPs to iPod. So hopefully we'll soon be transferring our kazillions of LPs to digital onto my iPod and his laptop.
I am so excited because little Tristan is coming tomorrow afternoon to our place and will spend the night here, and possibly the weekend. His momma has to work some this weekend and Aunt Dede & Uncle John have some weekend plans. So we get the bonus of having him here with us. So you can be fairly assured that tomorrow's blip will include a little boy.
Have a great Friday. Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
P.S. I still haven't gotten the camp blips from last week posted--I'm working on them, honest I am. It was such a big and wonderful week. I am not sure I am able to do it justice. I think as a writer and as a blipper, I best get it done.
P.P.S. Mr. Fun took today's photo. I have to give him the credit. He thinks I'm cheating if he takes the photo. I think this blog has his name on it too!
