I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

Happy days are here again, well at least for some folk, the spider season is upon us.
This is a  female garden orb spider Araneus diadematus. She lives in our garden. Being a meat eater with a tendency to eat any male that dares to mate with her, she is truly the Bringer of Death. 
The quote about death is often associated with Robert Oppenheimer one of the creators of the first nuclear bomb. As he witnessed the first detonation of a nuclear weapon on July 16, 1945, a piece of Hindu scripture ran through the mind of J. Robert Oppenheimer: “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.” It is, perhaps, the most well-known line from the Bhagavad Gita.
