Long Distance Running

The runners are from Eltham College, London and St Leonards School, St Andrews, who are running a relay from Paris to St Andrews to commemorate 100 years since Eric Liddell won his gold medal at the 1924 Paris Olympics. They have been running in relay but they came together as a group in Edinburgh to run in to the French Consulate on the Royal Mile for a formal reception. They were joined by representatives of the charities that are benefiting from their run and by the ultrarunner Jasmin Paris (in orange) who this year was the first woman ever to complete the Barkley Marathons in the USA - five laps of a gruelling 20 mile circuit to be completed in 60 hours.
