Classic
We took a break from expeditions today - no cycling or train adventures. Just a slow pokey day walking around Spello. We walked around the flat lands that we look out onto from our terrace - oak lined roads between rectangular fields of fava beans, chick peas, barley, rye and oats, surrounded by olive groves. The streets in town are relatively quiet before the big brouhaha that is happening this weekend…but you’ll have to wait for those blips. Today my blippable item is the very cool car that was parked on Via Cavour across from ex-Chiesa San Michele Archangelo. It is a classic 60’s Italian roadster! Possibly a 1967 Bellisima Bianchina. It is the cutest car ever! Unbelievably, the driver left his keys in the ignition. I was tempted to hop in and make like Audrey Hepburn zipping around Paris. Remember the movie, “How to Steal a Million”? But I didn’t have my licenses (CA & International) and the streets of Spello are more like a narrow, winding roller coaster than the straight, wide avenues of Paris. The ‘fiddle neck’ stick shift is a nice touch (extra).
