Pit party

Original plan for 3 year old's beach party was stymied by the weather (cold and windy) so relocation to a sandy hollow in the dunes was required.
The kids all made like rabbits, or badgers, digging and tunnelling  as if  their lives depended upon it. 

The fabulous duck-shaped strawberry cake had been demolished by the time we arrived but the chocolate cake was still available for those with the hearty appetites required for furious digging. Pock-marked birthday girl seemed to enjoy it all in her own particular way, often doing something slightly different from the rest. Perhaps, like me, she's not a joiner. (Extras)
