He was longingly ogling the baby robins outside which we wouldn’t let him chase. And then, to make matters worse, we are going away for a few days and he saw the suitcases. Bad news all around for a cat.

Extra- Emma, my naturalist colleague, chasing a gartersnake in the grass. She’s a professional - I learned so much from watching her. And then I got to held the Hartman’s she caught! As it breathed, its scales expanded. And as I relaxed, it relaxed. Just a wonderful experience.
