broken and obsolete

I decided to go for another S Bahn station today for a change. It's a little bit further to walk (a few minutes) but the next station towards my destination. It's probably the nicer walk. It's amazing how quickly technology is becoming obsolete. I remember queueing to be able to make a phone call. With some concern I noticed that my mobile is 5 years old now. Updates are promised until the autumn this year with a plan to provide updates until 2026. I might need to look into getting a new one.
