Mary Doll had an appointment today for a minor procedure and The Youngest Mini Princess and I were out at their house before they left to look after Bella. Victor came back after dropping MD off and started laughing as we were having lunch…

Victor: “We were almost back at the house a couple of minutes after we left.”

Me: “Why?”

Victor: “Your mum said she’d forgotten to tell you about her mascara”

Me: “Her mascara?”

Victor: “That she was allowed to wear it. She wanted to come back and tell you but I told her you wouldn’t be remotely interested.”

Me: “How did she know that she could wear it? The pre op information leaflet said no makeup”

Victor: “ She phoned the hospital.”

Me: “She did WHAT?”

Victor: “She phoned the hospital to ask about this no makeup business and they said it was ok.”

Me: “That feels like a bigger story than her forgetting to tell me.”

People think I make my mother up!
