River Clyde Walk, New Lanark
Today while Andy Murray was winning the Wimbledon Men's Finals I was enjoying a fantastic walk along the Clyde from the World Heritage Site of New Lanark, through dappled woodland, passing waterfalls, and occasionally getting a fleeting glimpse of bird life. It was an utterly perfect summer's day. I have blipped this scene on the walk which gives a flavour of people doing their own thing - a solitary walker, a pair of riders taking a break and, in the distance, an approaching family at full trot! Incredibly a quarry company want to extend their activities into this area - read Herald newspaper report - and I joined others signing a petition set up on a stand beside the path to protest against such a development.
Now I'm off to watch the highlights. Well done, Andy.
