Columbine

I have a lot of red Columbine in my garden, they spread easily, but this is a cultivated variety which is a bit showier and less inclined to spread.  They are in full bloom now and the shy violets are passing.  Each has his moment in the sun and then they retreat for another year.  John will be here this morning to continue garden cleanup/weeding and the lawn needs mowing again.  In the spring, every plant, flower and weed is experiencing a growth spurt and you have to keep up or you will soon be overwhelmed.  The wee meadow is growing well and I'm hoping some wildflowers have decided to move into the space.  We'll see.
