Sock It To Me
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,
At work, it is sad. Lee-Ann told me this week that she will not be re-applying for her job.
She seemed upbeat. Having made the decision, she feels better.
I will miss her very much. She's a lovely presence around the office.
The BA Team Leads are also up for elimination. All of them. As a consequence there have been tales that discipline has gone out of the window. Someone told me they saw them having shots in a meeting room last week.
Their manager organised a meeting to ask how they were doing. To illustrate their mental health they all decided to make sock-puppets and would only answer him via their sock.
I actually witnessed this in the office. The four of them talking in squeaky voices and miming along to a sock. They did it openly at their desks, cracking themselves up.
This is what happens when you keep people dangling around in uncertainty for weeks. They're planning a whisky night next.
If only we could go through restructures without restructuring anybody.
S.
