Last night we were treated to an electrical storm in the dark as we drove back to Snells from the book launch at 1 Ponsonby Road. At one time in particular it seemed as though the sheet of lightning was barely higher than the car on a not very high hilltop. The immediate loud thunder was expected, otherwise it could have been startling.

The ground everywhere was wet this morning.
