Summer

All over, people are celebrating Summer.

On the canal, people sit in folding chairs next to their boats and drink beer or white wine. Their dogs busily talk to passers-by.
By the river, sunburnt families picnic and shout at their kids and dogs splashing together in the water.
At the tennis club, the members hold a parent-and-child tournament, eat barbecued sausages and catch the latest from Wimbledon.
In the High Street, smokers congregate in the sunshine outside the pubs.

And everyone basks in the golden glow of a day that already seems to belong to the past. Part of the parade of perfect Summer days.
