Walking

Ilan Eshkeri - Walking

A nice day with the Mrs doing the usual rounds, cafe, some shops and the bookstore. Seeing the cover, I immediately was taken in by the interesting story of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I often over deliberate about buying things but somehow my gut was telling me to buy and read it.

Although the film has been out for a while, it’s coming out in Japan in a week. I’m not surprised I haven’t heard of it, these types of films don’t make much headway across media, but already, I’m smashing through the book at a breakneck speed (even going over some passages again to “feel” the journey), in the hopes of finishing it before seeing it at the cinema.

I used to work at a cinema that catered to an older / senior crowd. They would have lapped this movie up in droves.

I’m usually not one for reading books, but over the past few months I’ve increased my book intake, about 2 a month, and find that reading an enjoyable or useful book feels mentally relaxing. I feel less anxious, I’m deep in sustained thought and not all over the place with constant distractions.

Here’s to more stability.
