Tea for two

My sister in law bought us an afternoon tea for two as a joint birthday gift last year and we finally got round to enjoying our treat today. The venue was a hotel which back in the 1980’s was an office building my parents used to work in. It’s a grade 1 listed building and hard to imagine a nicer place to work in back in the day. It was quite nostalgic visiting the office my dad used to work in, which is now the hotel bar.
We tested the staff a bit when we said neither of us liked cheese but they did well and made alternative sandwiches. The cakes were delicious but there were far too many and we bought some home. The Prosecco was ‘the icing on the cake’.
