For the family

A special day

It’s our 53rd wedding anniversary today and we went with R to the Wedgwood Museum at Barlaston, a 20 min drive along the A50 from home.

I visited the Wedgwood factory in 1961 on a school trip from Kidderminster, we had just finished our GCE O level exams and did a number of visits to learn about different industries. I bought a small green Jasper ware dish, 8cms,  which I still have!!

The museum buildings have been built since my visit, all those years ago and have a superb display of porcelain and information. It was fascinating and seeing all all the stunning designs and colours, makes me want to start mixing up my materials again. Coffee and cakes, was followed by a look round the other shops on site. We didn’t look round the factory this time, as S is keen to see it and we will all go together.

There was so much to see that it warrants several visits.

A most enjoyable day.
