Rodgersia

It was a rather grey, damp day so I didn’t spend much time outdoors, except to walk Bertie in the afternoon. It was on our way out that I spotted that the Rodgersia with its luscious bronze-green leaves had sprouted some flowers. I love this leafy plant and look forward every springtime to it emerging from a boggy corner of our garden. I can’t remember seeing these spires of cream coloured blooms before, perhaps it’s something that only comes once the plant reaches maturity.
Another point of interest today was a pleasant hour spent at the fortnightly Community Library and cafe. This has become more and more popular over the last couple of years. Word must have got around about the good coffee and tasty home baking!
