Day 40 Camino Santa Irena to Santiago
A beautiful sunny day marked our last walk of the Camino. We arrived at about 1:30 and entered the famous square to the sound of Galician bagpipes. We were elated and relieved! After 778kms (or thereabouts), 37 days walking plus two days of rest, it felt great and we tried to savour the moment. Beer never tasted this good when we finally got to our first bar! We were greeted by our German friend from Berlin which was really nice as she was waiting for us and kindly took some photos. We also met some American pilgrim friends who we first met on day one in Orisson.
Big thank you to my fellow blipers who have supported me through my travels and given me encouragement. I’m sorry I was not able to visit your respective blip pages as invariably we were tired out.
