My daughter making tomato and mascarpone risotto for tea. I'm here for three nights while Mike is away near York with work.

This morning I had a Feldenkrais class run by Siu Foon, a member of the mountaineering club. I find it all absolutely fascinating, even though its benefits haven't been proved. I'll see how it goes.

After lunch I had a dental check up appointment... over really quickly, and he worried me slightly by telling me that he was the only NHS dentist left in the practice and he wasn't sure how long that would be the case... aagh! £26.80 paid and an appointment made for a year hence. Time to drive to Swansea....

....but of course I hit rush hour around Cardiff. On a 3.5 hour journey you're almost certain to hit a heavy-traffic time at some point.

The grandsons were dead pleased to see me, bless their cotton socks  - where on earth does that phrase come from?
