Marathon Day

Or, as one of my neighbours calls it, "Wooooo Day", when people cheer on the thousands of runners taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon and Half Marathon as they run along the Prom. This is the leading group in the Marathon, with eventual winner Moray Pryde (108) tucked in behind Tom Charles (110) who would come in second. It was pretty wet but there were still plenty of spectators out with banners, bells, whistles, pots and pans to encourage the runners.

In the afternoon went along to the Ormelie to watch the Championship Play-Off Final - Leeds v Southampton. Met fellow fan M there and we both watched Leeds fail to make their possession count and lose 0-1 to an Armstrong first half goal. Both teams seemed lacklustre but Leeds more so and the better team on the day won. End of the season and for the three teams I follow most closely (Dundee) United won their league but the other two both lost their promotion play-offs by a single goal.

And still time in the evening for a trip to Haddington where L and G were performing at Haddstock. A slightly odd venue - not a pub after all but a brewery tap room on a small industrial estate.
