Gardening

Val and I went for a brisk walk around the Damflask reservoir first thing, taking advantage of the sunshine. Then we dropped into the nearby garden centre on the way home - a very traditional Bank Holiday Monday combination. The rain held off in the afternoon too, and I planted up some hanging baskets. Each of last year's still had a surviving trailing fuchsia in it, all of which were robust enough to replant.
Meanwhile Richard went on a trip to Bakewell, with a friend who's not been well recently.
I am finding it hard to write about these small, significant daily pleasures when the reports from Rafah are so terrible.   More rocket attacks from Hamas, more deaths among children and their families from Israeli government air strikes on crowded refugee camps.  More agony. No words do justice to it.
