Down in the woods today

Worked on Hat Fair a bit this morning, but though it goes on this afternoon and evening, my job is really done, so I sloped off to Crab Wood where it was wonderfully green and cool and reviving. This enormously tall umbellifer was growing in front of an oak where 2 paths meet. It was stretching for the light and I loved the feeling that even in this well-used recreational wood its life seemed entirely divorced from human interference - sort of parallel universe.

I did post for yesterday, though not until this morning. A bit of a snatched shot, but what a magic weekend I've had.
