Seen in Mote Park along with two steam locos and a gang of men looking on as the Maidstone Model Engineering Club prepare for bank holiday running this afternoon. https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/the-railway/locomotives/class-25-d7612/

Worked on the allotment this afternoon in between showers. It’s nearly 4 weeks since my last visit owing, of course, to being away. The mare’s tails had prospered but were easily dealt with. Some evidence of vegetables and flowers to been seen. Spuds are looking good and broad beans too.

We’ve a marvellous crop of nettles along the perimeter of the plot, all over the compost bins and round the shed. The shed itself had been an awful mess so we tackled that as well. Plenty to do over the coming weeks.

There’s been mixed germination in seeds we sowed before leaving. I think slugs dined well on the brassicas and courgettes!
