Blip, Rain, Sun, Salisbury, Rain, Sun, Sarum

On the move again today, though first we were to meet briefly with a babble of blippers at Blackroot Bistro in Sutton Park before heading off.  It had just rained when we arrived, but the photo was taken in the dry.  Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the walk, as it was Bank Holiday Monday and driving was likely to be slow and there was always a risk of significant delays.  We had to pick up a couple of camping supplies and fill up with LPG as well.

As it turned out, the drive was slow, but we managed to arrive before 5 pm to set up.  After camping out on the limited space in Sutton, it was good to spread out and put the awning and groundsheet plus windbreak up - but the last erection of the windbreak heralded a heavy downpour.  Ground sheet soaked, me soaked, I beat a hasty retreat into the van.  At least we don't have to put up a tent!  Enjoyed leftover curry from a few days ago, and finally settled in for our stay here of 6 nights, during which we enjoy the city where we met and married and had all 3 sons, take a day in London for family meet ups, then also have a meal with 2 different sets of friends from way back.  Both couples will drive up to Salisbury and we will eat out locally with them.

Extra is of the wonderful view of Old Sarum - the ancient Mott and Bailey castle on the hill above Salisbury.
