Golden Ringed Dragonfly (and Walking Boots)

And we're home... thoroughly knackered but having had a really good time with lovely people. 

We were as close to "wild camping" as we're ever likely to get now, and if I don't have to use another early morning trowel for a considerable time I'll be quite happy about that. But it was a beautiful location, cupped in the valley between Sugarloaf Mountain and Table Mountain (each of which got our best endeavours over the past days) and a flowing river where a bit of paddling may have taken place.

Given that Janet could barely walk around the village not so very long ago, I can only applaud her determination to get back into fitness, and hope that she doesn't break me in the process..,

Anyhow, on a final walk we stumbled almost literally across this freshly emerged golden ringed dragonfly - not one I've seen before, I think. I gather they have greener eyes as they mature, but this one was still thinking about its maiden flight and wasn't ready to move aside.
