Through a portcullis (window)

Took the dogs up to Caerphilly for a walk around the castle. Work on the castle was started in 1240 by the Marcher Lord, Gilbert de Clare, to counteract the power of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, the Prince of Wales. It is the second largest castle in the UK with an extensive  system of wide moat defences. It has its own leaning tower, the South East tower (that leans more than Pisa), the result of gunpowder explosion during the Civil War and is shown in the extra.
Today’s Mono Monday challenge is through a window and my view of the castle is through a portcullis window. Thank you to Carolina for hosting.
