Palatinate

Steve Ellie and I went to Henley on day 1 of the Henley Royal Regatta, which finishes on Sunday.

As Ellie has taken up rowing herself, and competed recently at Henley, she found it very interesting and was also able to provide some background about the teams and techniques.

I learned that Durham University Boat Club, pictured here, has their own unique coloured kit. The team's colour is Palatinate - a shade of purple that is specific to the City of Durham.

On the day I hadn't even noticed the cox at the bow of the boat! I can hardly believe that a full size person was tucked into the bow.

It was a nice day out and I still ran a 10k in the evening as planned.
