Mouth full

I was surprised to see this female chaffinch with a mouth full of horse hair. I thought they would have built their nest a long time ago and I was expecting to see babies soon. Maybe they ‘top up’ their nests even when they have chicks in them .
A mixed day weather wise. Thunder was forecast but we did not get any.
We enjoyed watching Coldplay at the BBC Big Weekend from Luton. We’re actually staying opposite the park where they played on Thursday night so I expect the hotel was busy over the weekend.
