housewives' choice

I should explain.  Back in the olden days, Housewives' Choice was a radio show, broadcast on the Light Programme from 1946-1967.

Both Anniemay and I grew up with this playing in the background.  The idea was that our mums would have some music to listen to, while they cleaned the house.

Now housepersons have different choices.  I don't know what they'd have thought of this.
