Sunday lunch

This weekend we have had guests: S and A whom we we met in 2013 while on holiday in Crete.  We have had several holidays together since and never seem to be short of conversation.  Last night we went out to a local Turkish restaurant which was lovely and today ventured to Loughton for lunch at Tom, Dick and Harry's , a restaurant that I have walked by many times but never been in.  It came highly recommended and with good reason.  Delightful both inside and out, the service was quick and friendly and the food great.
We were forced to go into Loughton as today being the main  Ride London-Essex  (an event loved by cycling fans and hated by many ) meant that a number of roads were closed from 5am until 6.30pm.  The only way out of our area was for us to take the M11 southwards and go from there.  It did take quite a while for us to workout a route home for our friends who live in Surrey.  The event is partnered with Essex for a further 2 years: we will go away for those weekends!
