A Swiss surprise

After a night on a couchette from Amsterdam to Basel, we found ourselves transported from a land of extreme flatness to the very opposite.

We were not due to check in at our destination until after 2pm, so we followed our noses and have an adventure. We took a boat cruise from Spiez to Interlaken, but jumped off early to take a funicular train and then a cable car up to the top of the Neiderhorn Alp, all 1950m of it!
What a beautiful place to chill out and talk to random talkative strangers who seem to keep crossing our path. 

My extras are the view from both sides of the carriage when we stopped at Bern, hinting at the delights we would soon get a lot closer to.
