Marathon
An early but fun start egging these four on running the half marathon.
Dropped them off them we parked in the backstreets of Musselburgh and walked the three miles to Porty to our assigned spot. The leader had already reached the seven mile point in 34 minutes. Couldn’t help but be impressed with the determination and grit as 11,000 runners braved the terrible conditions. Driving rain and wind, the spectators were fewer but still cheering the runners on.
Had great fun hoping. On and off the bus and walking to different spots seeing other friends along the way and very emotional seeing our guys finish sun 2 hours.
A long long wait in the cold in Pinkie park. A whole crowd of shivers and umbrellas.
Home to a big pot of soup, bacon rolls and obligatory cake and also a chance to meet H’s girlfriend’s mum and brother for the first time. Only being seeing each other for five years!
The mum is slightly older and holier than me so I was on my best behaviour, no sweary words and no smutty stories so by default I was rather quiet :))))
Lazy afternoon watching the rain and reading the papers , another early start tomorrow as H and J are flying off to Peru for three weeks.
