Watch out

We’re only a mile or so from Bolton Castle so it would have been rude not to go. Really enjoyed our visit, it’s years and years since we last visited and as I recall it was very under developed then. Do I correctly recall chickens wandering about the courtyard?
It was too wet for me to want to look round the garden so we might come back and do that on a better day.
The weather dried up long enough for us all to enjoy a Wensleydale ice cream near Aysgarth before we headed back here via Middleham and Leyburn for nostalgia’s sake. My dad grew up here and we visited a lot as children.
