Rapids

The rain returned overnight, and for the first half of my walk with Django. The Esk was in spate, and there was standing water in many places. A LinkedIn post and exchange of comments got me to read a newly-released paper with unusual interest. A software advance has been made by a GPU manufacturer (Nvidia) but, as I'd expected, the claims in the article aren't a challenge to the established techniques that we're using in the new solver for HiGHS. Beyond that, I relaxed, booked travel for two conference trips, and vaguely followed Leeds' failure to win the Premier League play-off, a Monaco GP that was very dull after the first few hundred meters, and the very one-sided IPL final. Then I did the hoovering until daughter L begged me to stop!
