Serendipity

Not Leeds.

Today I was meant to be going to Leeds to meet with a pal to go and see this.

Unfortunately, Cross Country trains thwarted my efforts. I got to Sheffield on East Midlands Railway no bother but the Cross Country train to Leeds was so full I and many others got turned away despite having a reservation. Next one was in an hour but, after chatting with my pal in Leeds, we decided to postpone as Sheffield Station was super busy and the prospect of the next train being rammed was highly likely.

However, out of the disappointment came opportunity and that was to have the day in Sheffield and go and see this and also this, both of which have been on the list to see for a while. They were both fabulous. Also, the Yorkshire Speak Their Name quilt inside the Ruskin Collection exhibition was overwhelmingly powerful.

So, out of a train pickle came a day of remarkable things.
