A weed and a flower
Looking lovely together. I think the only difference, really, is that I paid for one of them.
It’s a bank holiday weekend, which doesn’t mean much to me, now I’m retired every Monday is a holiday. But I haven’t planned to see anyone or do anything for 3 whole days. It feels like I’ve been doing quite a lot recently.
My son L is at the Shindig festival in Somerset with R his wife - camping of course. Brrr. He’s playing 2 sets (one on the Church of Love stage, one on the Global Funk Fam stage - no, me neither!!) and is excited about that - it’s their favourite festival.
My friend J is off with her partner J in their camper van - they’re currently in the East Neuk of Fife - partly at my recommendation. I told them about nice walks mentioned by blipper BeingHere. They seem to be loving it.
My nephew A is off with his partner P visiting my friend who lives in Polperro, Cornwall.
My best friend A and I have fallen out, which is terrible. Over the invasion of Gaza. I heard about friendships and even marriages ending when people disagreed over Brexit. But I didn’t know anyone who voted for Brexit so I didn’t experience that. I’m so shocked that my friend of 40+ years, who isn’t Jewish, supports the actions of the Israeli state. I really cannot avoid feeling that I am right and she is wrong:-( Though I must move beyond that and try to build bridges.
So - through choice, but also circumstances, I’m spending 3 days working in my garden, and my allotment, listening to football, cricket, and podcasts, and also hoping to catch up on blip, as I’ve got behind on looking at people’s journals. I like to see every blip of everyone I follow, which takes time. But I really love it.
