Loch Migdale

It was a generally beautiful day, and I/we took advantage of this for multiple activities. After a little light weeding in the morning (and indeed more weeding on and off throughout the day), I did a short peloton workout where I managed to get pretty sweaty (as the starting temperature was much higher than previously in the house). Then into the car with M and L up to Migdale, where they swam the width and back in 45 minutes (a swim of about 1200 metres, which I did in July last year, although it took me rather more time). Meanwhile, I swam with them out into the middle of the Loch and then turned round and came back again, staying in the water for 21 minutes because I wanted to be reasonably cautious. What was great was being able to swim properly again, as the water is not too cold for head immersion. I sat and watched L and M come back across, and took a few photographs (see extra).

Back here, it was lunchtime, and then afterwards we popped out for some supplies as we had, on the spur of the moment, invited N and A round for snacks and drinks in the garden. They've both had covid, so have been wary of an "indoor gig" (hence not going round to their new house). It was great to see them. We had a super chatty time in the back garden in the evening sunshine, surrounded by plants and the starlings feeding their young in the nesting box someone built into the roof of this house. My allium were declared "Chelsea worthy" (another well lit picture in the extras).

They departed into the long evening gloaming, with both a bag of herbs from our over-producing herb bed and a picture which Mr A had brought up from Edinburgh for their new abode, which hopefully we will see soon. Thereafter, as we settled down for the night, there was a rather nice sunset.

Definitely a thumbs up day.
