Green

Woke fairly early but read the papers and did some word games before getting up. Much sunnier and drier day than we expected, so I went to the village shop for some rolls then we had them with bacon and egg whilst we planned what to do,
We decided to crack on with some outdoor jobs given tomorrow and the rest of next week looks like it will be wet. I set to sanding and then restaining the parts of the decking bannisters where they had peeled or split since A did them last year. A got stuck into power washing and polishing my car. Both fairly slow meditative jobs to do in the warm sunshine and we were both pleased with the results. We had a bit of a snooze on the sofa afterwards then took Paisley for a walk around the nearby football field…the countryside absolutely bursting with fresh growth at the moment and aftr recent rain it was all looking very lush in the sunshine.
We popped up to Duns to get a few things for supper and made mushroom stuffed chicken supremes with the meat I bought at the farm shop yesterday (like the bacon this morning it was delicious!) with smashed roasted baby potatoes and a fennel and pear salad. Whilst it was all cooking we had a cheeky mojito and enjoyed the last rays of sunshine on the deck.
After supper we decided to binge watch the new Bridgerton series….well, up to episode 4 which is all that’s been released at the moment. Love the costumes!
