Summer Blooms in the Heat
I went out after dawn for a blip and to fill the feeders before it got hot. I saw these pastel campanula and an old stand of oregano blooming romantically among the diving mosquitoes. It made for one quick blip attempt and an equally quick return to the house with a score of only 4 bites.
The temperature never cooled last night inside the house below 72ºF (22ºC) and I am closing all the windows early before we get to sweat through 93+ (33+) later on. Could be a good day to switch on the a/c in the TV room. Those cheerful folks who assured me this past winter while I endured the shower renovation that I really would love it... were right! It is so lovely to have a walk-in, room-size shower on a hot day.
Not that I'm complaining, really.
I got large swathes of the lawn mowed last evening, finally. Interesting how wavy 'swathes' appear in the full light of morning... and, no, I was not drinking while riding! As soon as things cool down I will go out and do a little yard mowing correction. September seems the earliest date.
