Busy as a bee.

They were certainly busy this afternoon and the aquilegias seemed to be their favourite flowers today.

Both granddaughters called in this morning. We haven’t seen them since my birthday so had a lot of catching up to do.
What an enjoyable morning.
Did ask them to stay for lunch but they were off to Leeds, so it was just tea/coffee and lemon layer cake with English strawberries.
( good job I did some baking yesterday)
The rest of their family were on their way to London.
I wonder why!!!

So after lunch I went in search of some plants I wanted for the garden.
The first small nursery I called at had unfortunately changed hands. The gentleman has retired and the people who have taken over don’t seem to have the same knowledge or interest. None of the veg. plants I wanted.
The next place was closed.
So ended up at Tong Garden Centre. Not my favourite place but I did get most of the things on my list.
Spent the rest of the afternoon planting.

It has been a fine day with some sunshine and a little warmer. Still could do with it being a bit hotter.
