The most appalling day weather-wise - 10C, nonstop torrential rain and gales. My poor little daisies that I planted out yesterday are getting a bashing. Nonetheless we ventured out to Schull which is in full swing with the Fastnet Film Festival.  We met Finola and a couple of other friends and wanted to see another friend's short film: Ordinary Extraordinary Women.  It was being shown in a tiny venue and was already rammed. so we had to wait for the second sitting. All coffee shops were full so we we spent a damp half hour lurking. It was worth it, a very thought-provoking short film about the role of women during  the War of Independence - mainly unsung heroes, their bravery not even known about in their own families. All sorts of stories erupted once it was finished.
We then enjoyed a long lunch with Con and Úna and missed the second film we were intending to go to!
It's still absolutely lashing and the forecast for next week looks dire - sigh.
