The view from Flanders

Liberty Road marker

The Liberty Road is the commemorative way marking the route of the 3rd American Army commanded by general Patton from D-Day in June 1944. It starts in Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy, and ends in Bastogne in Belgium. At each of the 1146 kilometres, there is a stone marker. This one stands in front of the former Palais de Justice in Valognes.
