Flowering cherry trees

One street here in Dartmouth is lined with the Kwansen cherry trees. Last year due to to polar vortex they did not bloom. This year they are covered in blooms. It was a summer like day, so there were lots of people out enjoying the blooms and taking lots of family photos.

We spent the morning spreading some mulch on one of my properties. I started working there in 2008, so this has become one of my gardens, even though I don't live there. Unfortunately I am not sure how much longer she will be able to stay in her own home. She is having a lot of health issues and has home care on a daily basis now.. I'm not even sure how old she is now, but I suspect that she is over 80. She knows that as long as she is living there, I will do whatever needs to be done in the yard.

Tomorrow I am going to Bridgewater to fill the back of the truck with plants again. The weather forecast is looking good for the weekend.
