Day 36 Camino Sarria to Portomarin

We walked 23km to our next destination today. We are staying at a town called Portomarin. Todays blip is in fact the rather unusual church which was built by the Templars in the 12-13th century. It i looks like a fort and like the castle in Ponferrada was built by the Templars to defend the pilgrims. It does not have a spire and in fact looks more like a defensive tower. A further quirk of this church was that it was moved stone by stone from its original location as there was a move to flood The Valley to build a dam. If you look at one of the sides of hbd church you can actually see the stones that are numbered.
Today was also special because it was the hottest so far. - 28 degrees according to a local pharmacy.
