Over the Don

A day off for Jen and I while Kara had her long day at preschool. I normally take Kara’s birthday off but it lands on Sunday so took this Friday so Jen and I could celebrate our achievement of being parents and just have a bit of time to ourselves. The initial plan was a walk along Aberdeen beach esplanade but the weather was, in Jen’s words, just manky. That horrible constant light rain that soaks you. So we had a wander around the shops at the Berryden Retail park before a great lunch at The Old Smiddy and then some doughnuts from Portly Byrd, also excellent. This is the view from where we parked the car with Aberdeen in the distance.

Grabbed an iced coffee from Dreamy Goat before picking up Kara in plenty of time. Made the sponge part of Kara’s cake ready for decoration an a wee party tomorrow.

Kara asleep just after 6:30pm. Think we are all shattered!!
