When I went to work in the morning the builders were having a cup of coffee outside. Mr BRE said they were 'just checking the lintels' today.

When I came back from work they had pulled down the whole bedroom ceiling.

And checked the lintels!

If I had some warning I would've taped up all the doors in the house and worried for days about the impending dust. As it was, I didn't get to use the tape and the dust isn't so bad. Now all I'm worrying about is the next bit when they bring the hall ceiling down!
