I had big plans for the day . . . my second ascent of Whernside.  The weather made me rethink. I went for plan B which was a drive to Ribblehead, photos of the viaduct, walk up to Blea Moor signal box (the most remote in the country according to Network Rail) and back. A total of 2.5 miles and the rain didn’t stop.

An interesting moment on the journey there when I’d just gone over the narrow bridge in Horton in Ribblesdale and met a massive lorry coming around the bend and about to cross. I had no choice other than reverse back over the bridge.

The photo with the cotton grass just won over the extras.
