Everyday I Write The Book

Ol' Bushy is back

I like having squirrels in the garden.

Milder and drier today although the front page images of a drenched Rishi Sunak bought a dampness to the proceedings. I find it astonishing (even though I dislike the man and his party) that we would make ourselves look stupid in the eyes of the world by having a drowned rat on the doorstep of number ten. I would have happily have lent him one of my gazebos, they only take a few minutes to put up. As usual the Daily Mail and the Daily Express put so much spin on the news that they made themselves look like idiots. I'm happy for people to have different political opinions but their tabloid rhetoric is infantile and undermines the intelligence of the nation. It's not journalism, it's childish ranting, conspiracy theories, and populist nonsense.

For my part, today I gave a donation to the Labour Party as I want them to win nationally but did leafletting for the lib dems as I want them to win locally.  Tactical and practical politics.

Had a relatively chilled day today. The weather does remain odd. There were sudden short bursts of sunshine that were so rapid as to be disconcerting, as though god were playing with the earth's dimmer switches. Aaaaah .... Oh ..... I see the light! I feel the gloom ... Then it got quite warm and sunny, then clouded over again ...

Some shenanigans with the car tonight which for some reason didn't want to charge but I managed to fix it .... taking an EV on holiday is still something of an adventure. We had a meal with Strider and the Yoga Mama but now nearly nine o'clock and haven't done any packing yet ...
