Extrapolation
In mathematics, extrapolation is a type of estimation, beyond the original observational range, of the value of a variable on the basis of its relationship with another variable. It is similar to interpolation, which produces estimates between known observations, but extrapolation is subject to greater uncertainty and a higher risk of producing meaningless results - which could describe today's image perfectly! :-)
Most of the above is to distract from the fact that this is another emergency blip image and that the word extrapolation just randomly popped into my head out of nowhere when I looked in my viewfinder at this combination of an allium seed head and a mobile which we have hanging in our kitchen window - two items which I have used separately in previous blips - but then extrapolation can also mean the extension of a method, assuming similar methods will be applicable! :-)
